If a lazy Sunday sipping free-flow Perrier-Jouet Champagne, nibbling leisurely on seafood, imported cheese, pizza, noodles and carved meats to name a few, whilst enjoying the views of the Hong Kong harbour sounds like heaven, then look no further than the Intercontinental Harbourside’s elaborate Sunday Brunch. The spread is highly impressive with tonnes of choices, so even the fussiest of eaters have something to tickle their fancy. One fine Sunday lunch, a friend and I basked in the sun and Read more [...]

There is one place in the bustling Dubai Marina The Walk that is almost magical, it feels serene quiet and almost in a colonial old-fashioned setting with just a few stories in comparison to the neighbors – which place am I talking about? The Ritz-Carlton Dubai of course. A luxurious little pearl located just at the start of the Walk, opposite Dubai’s premium fashion shop Boutique One (but that is another story). In November I had the pleasure to dine in one of Ritz-Carlton’s restaurants, Read more [...]

Acanto restaurant Milan

There is no shortage of excusive restaurants in Milan, in the city where style and elegance is ruling and its residents are spoiled for choices irrespectively if it comes to fashion or food. Every time I visit Milan I always wish I could stay longer, stay longer to explore the hidden shopping gems, stay longer to test all the new stylish eateries. I had the pleasure to stay at the Principe di Savoia earlier this year and not surprisingly, their restaurant Acanto is considered one of the city’s Read more [...]

In November I had the pleasure to visit the tranquil and serene boutique hotel Desert Palm outside Dubai for high tea and I can truly recommend the beautiful grounds and polo-themed hotel for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of Dubai. The Dubai Desert Palm is a cool avant-garde boutique hotel overlooking the Dubai Skyline in the midst of a lush green polo estate. The grounds are home to no less than 400 horses and 4 polo-fields. The perfect retreat for the chic style-seeking Read more [...]

Noon Hotel Apartments Dubai is perfectly located 5 minutes walk from the Mall of the Emirates. The hotel is modern and has an amazing collection of contemporary art. When selecting the hotel I did this mainly for location since I was travelling for business however, the hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff is charming and helpful, alright, I admit that there were some minor issues with a loud A/C unit at one occasion but they were soon solved. The overall impression is that the staff at Noon Read more [...]

Saphir 24 – Lunch with a View in Monte Carlo

Perched above the Mediterranean Sea behind Monte Carlo's famous casino lies one of the principality's top hotels—the Fairmont Monte Carlo. The luxury hotel dating back to 1975 has three spots to dine, including the new NOBU, and we had the chance to sample the French cuisine at Saphir 24, bistro lounge & bar, the 24-hour, seven-days-a-week spot located just beyond the hotel lobby. One of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon in Monte Carlo is with lunch and shopping, and this bistro is the Read more [...]

Hotel d’Angleterre Copenhagen – review

There are admittedly many chic hotels in Copenhagen but there is definitely only one true luxury hotel and that is Hotel d'Angleterre, the more than 250-years old icon and landmark on Kongens Nytorg. The “ White Lady “has throughout history provided a home away from home for royalty and starlets.  The grand palace has also hosted countless important historical parties in the magnificent ballroom and this is still where some of the most important festivities and celebrations in Denmark are Read more [...]

There are luxury hotels and there are luxury hotels and then it is Principe di Savoia, a spectacular landmark in central Milan that for almost 100 years has been hosting royalties and international travellers. The majestic building on Piazza della Repubblica is an elegant grand dame offering an amazing top-notch service in combination with a personal yet charming atmosphere.Upon arrival we were greeted by the impeccable doormen that immediately whisked away our luggage as well as took car of our Read more [...]

In early August I had the pleasure to stay at Hotel SP34 in Copenhagen and I can truly recommend the hotel for travellers to the Danish capital. The hotel is perfectly located in central Copenhagen, great for walking to shopping and sightseeing (100 meters from the City Hall square) as well as conveniently located near Norreport for the metro and trains. The public areas are great, I especially liked the check-in  / bar area that felt funky and modern. The lobby area with it’s welcoming sitting Read more [...]

When July rolls around in the South of France, there is one place on everyone's mind: Saint-Tropez. The jetsetters and glitterati flock to the small seaside town known for mega yachts, luxurious hotels, A-List parties and celebrity chef restaurants. While we spent a week last month in this glamorous locale, we had the opportunity to check out Alain Ducasse's new restaurant at the Lebanese-style Byblos hotel, Rivea, which opened its doors last April replacing the former Ducasse spot Spoon. Known Read more [...]
