Admiral Codringon is well-hidden gastro-pub in Chelsea, frequented by the well-heeled Sloane crowd. When Anne Barr and Peter York wrote The Official Sloane Ranger’s Handbook in the 1980ies the Cod was the local haunt of the then Lady Diana Spencer, the late Princess Diana.

The pub front is a loud and crowded drinking spot whereas the restaurant further back in the premises offers a modern British fare under a retractable roof. Menu is simple but offers a good choice of dishes, meat is divine and wine list is rather eclectic for a pub. Being in chic Chelsea prices are reasonable and therefore the Cod is a long time favourite even outside the Sloane quarters.
